Hopewell Boro was settled in 1703 and is located in the foothills of the Sourland Mountains. Many of the private residences and businesses are located in Grand Victorian homes - A picturesque reminder of a bygone era.
Hopewell Township is a large township covering over 60 square miles. It is next to the Delaware River and includes the Historic Washington Crossing State Park. This is the location of George Washington's famous Christmas night river crossing. Major employers include Janssen Pharmaceutica, Merrill Lynch, Traprock Industries and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
